This month our theme is a taste of the tropics! It has been so hot here in New York this Summer that it feels like the tropics! So, I am in the spirit!
I have been loving my Botanical Builder Framelits so much recently and those tropical flowers and leaves seemed perfect for this month's theme.
The Botanical Builder Framelits coordinate with the Botanical Blooms stamp set to add definition and details. So, I grabbed that too and went to my cardstock to choose a color scheme before I sat down to craft. Island Indigo seemed like a perfect color for this theme so I chose that for my card base. I almost always use a Whisper White card base, but sometimes it is fun to mix it up :)
After a lot of mixing and matching different color combinations, this is my finished card. I chose Pear Pizzaz for my Leaves and stamped them with Wild Wasabi ink. For the flowers, I chose Daffodil Delight, Perfect Plum and Calypso Coral with Whisper White for the flower centers. And, I just can't help myself but to add a little pearl to the center of all the flowers!
I can never seem to have enough Birthday cards, so I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Butterfly Basics stamp set - another favorite! I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink and heat embossed it with White embossing powder. I really like how it makes the sentiment pop and that little bit of white in the flower centers really ties it all together.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
