Daily December 2015 Album Prep Part 2: Album Set Up and 2014 Album Share

Once I have all of my supplies organized (see Part One) it is time to set up my album!  I start by flipping through last year's album.  It gets me in the spirit and sparks some ideas about what I want to do in this year's album.

In the video below I share a flip through of my 2014 Daily December album and a look at how I have prepped this year's album.

Here are some close ups of my 2014 album...

This is my cover page.  Very eclectic :)

Last year, I divided up each week of pocket pages with these paper pages.  I liked the mix of the two.  Each Monday of the month was a paper page layout.

I liked that the 2x2 pockets allowed for lots of additional photos, but they did make the page very busy.  This year, I'm going to try cleaner, simpler pages.

I just loved this photo! And, what a perfect caption :)

Last year, I kept a cohesive color scheme on each page, but not throughout my album.  I always mix it up in my project life family album, but I think I want to try a consistent color scheme throughout my album this year.  I think I will like that better in this smaller, themed album.

Here's another example of one of my Monday weekly divider layouts.  I definitely like dividing up the weeks and I'm excited to use the weekly planner pages as dividers this time around.

This is my most simple page in my album and one of my favorites.  I have to remind myself to keep it simple this year!

Another simple page.  I created the 2x2 photos using a collage app on my phone.  There are lots of free collage apps out there that are great.  I used PhotoCollage for a long time before the Project Life app came out.  Since I bought the Project Life app I almost always use that to create these smaller photos.

One of my favorite things about my Daily December Album is documenting our Family traditions.  Last year was my Son's first Christmas and we started a new Family tradition of adding a new ornament to the tree every year.  This page shows our decorations and documents our ornament additions for the year.

I love this page documenting Peter opening his presents from each of my four Sisters.

There is nothing quite like the excitement of Christmas morning!  My Son was too little to understand Christmas last year, but he sure woke up excited :)

Another reminder to keep it simple!  I love lots of embellishments, but a simple page really focuses on the photos.

I loved using this 2x2 page to include lots of photos from Christmas day.

I used the back side of the page for lots of photos from the day after Christmas when the celebrations continue in our family.

I hope this gave you some ideas for your album this year.
Flipping through my album always inspires me and gets me in the Holiday spirit!  Subscribe to my blog over on the right so you don't miss my progress on my album this year.  I'm going to try to share my progress here weekly.
