2 For 1 Birthday Cards with with Stampin' Up! Rose Wonder Stamp Set

As promised, I'm here to share a closer look at some of the cards I created for this month's Blogging Friends Blog Hop.  If you missed the hop, you can check it out HERE.  This month we all shared projects that we created with our favorite stamp set.  It was so fun to see what everyone chose as their favorite!  There are so many sets that I love so it was hard to choose one to feature, but I have been reaching for Rose Wonder over and over again!   It lends itself beautifully to so many different techniques.
It really is a must have!

Today I wanted to show you how I created these two cards using the positive and negative pieces of the die cut.

Card Measurements:
Card Bases - (1)Whisper White & (1)Wisteria Wonder:
5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25"
Layer - (1) Wisteria Wonder: 5.25" x 4"
(3)Thick Whisper White:  5" x 3.75"

Recipe:

I die cut the large rose from one of the 5" x 3.75" piece of Thick Whisper White.  While the die cut was still intact, I colored it with Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Pear Pizzaz using sponge daubers.  Then, I brushed the entire thing with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

For the first card, I used the Whisper White card base, the Wisteria Wonder Layer and the Thick Whisper White layer.  I adhered them together and glued the colored die cut on top with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  I stamped the sentiment in Basic Black, embossed the border with Gold Embossing Powder and die cut it with the coordinating dies.  I just love that label stamp and matching die!  I am going to be using this one a lot!

For the second card, I die cut another large rose from Thick Whisper White card stock and adhered it to my Wisteria Wonder card base along with the right side of what was leftover when I die cut the rose from the card stock.  Then came the fun part!  I inlayed all of the negative pieces that I had leftover after I created my first card into the white die cut on this card.  I glued them all in place using the Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  It took a bit of time, but it was easy and I love how it turned out!  I created my Happy Birthday sentiment and added it with Stampin' Dimensionals and that's it!  Simple and elegant!

I am so happy that this set isn't on the Retiring List!  But, the Bundled & Save price is going away at the end of May so if you want to get the stamp set with the framelits you better act quickly to save 15% off!

Awesome Ladies Project: What Does Your Ideal Day Look Like?

Hey Guys!  I have another page to share with you today from my Awesome Ladies Project album!  I have been having so much fun being on the Creative Team!  I'm so excited to share my pages here with you guys.  I think it will be a fun way for you guys to learn more about me :)

If you would like to sign up for the class you can Click Here to learn more!  The class has weekly questions and creative prompts to help you document your awesome lady self! This week our question was "What Does Your Ideal Day Look Like?" and our creative prompt was "ombre."

This is my completed page.  I did a lot of messy playing to create the background for this page because that is what my ideal day would be!  A whole day locked up in my craft room playing with different techniques and getting my hands all inky!  I used a photo of my desk while I was playing with March's Paper Pumpkin Kit, watching YouTube videos and drinking coffee :)
Mmmm.... heaven!

I started with a 6x8 sheet of watercolor paper and I created an ombre watercolor wash using Bermuda Bay ink.  Then, I used a stencil from the Happy Patterns Decorative Mask set (which is retiring and is now 50% off!)  First, I stenciled using a sponge dauber and White Craft pigment ink.  Then, I moved the stencil sightly and stenciled again using another sponge dauber and Bermuda Bay ink.  I tried to keep the ink heavier on the top and lighter on the bottom to give it an ombre effect.  I also didn't bother to stencil the center area because that is where my photo was going.

Here is a closer look at my journaling.  It is so hard to carve out "me time," but so important!  We all try to do so much and care for the needs of so many and so often we forget to care for ourselves.  Even when I was writing the words on my page, I felt selfish.  I have to remind myself that it is ok to want something just for me.  Sometimes some crafty time alone can be just what I need to recharge and be a better me.  For myself and everyone I care for.

This is my completed page in my 6x8 Kraft Album.  I'm loving my choice to do a mini album for my Awesome Ladies Project Pages.  I thought about keeping it in our Family Project Life album, but I'm glad I decided to keep it separate and really love how it is kind of turning into a personal journal.

If you would like to purchase any of the products that I used for my page today, I listed them below with links to my online store.
